I have a few family members who contracted the coronavirus, but fortunately they self-isolated. They were able to get well and back in shape. I was very thankful for that. I’m grateful today that I could see them because a lot of other people don’t get to. I think it’s so easy to be desensitized by just seeing a number. And these are actual people in our communities dying. We don’t have a gigantic house, so we’re all kind of breathing down each other’s necks. I don’t think I’m going to be going out too much, especially because the town that I’m going to be in is mostly Republican—and Republicans in the South really do scare me.
